Mr. Devin Green
NBA & HBCU Ambassador
“I believe I’ve been put on this earth to inspire
and that comes from a very strong will to win
in life.” A powerhouse basketball player since
a young age, Ohio native Devin Green
graduated Hampton University in 2005 where
he earned two all-league selections, was
named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference
rookie of the year in 2002, and finished as
the school’s fifth all-time leading scorer.
He has spent his career playing for NBA
teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers
in the U.S. and abroad, eventually
retiring from GS Pétroliers in July
2020.
Inspired by his deep love and loyalty to
Hampton University, Devin founded the Rich
Heritage Classic, Inc. in 2020. Rich Heritage
Classic aspires to elevate basketball
infrastructure within HBCUs with the ultimate
goal is to reclaim the dominance the
institutions once held at the collegiate level
and within the African American community.
Devin Green is the second player to ever
make it in the NBA out of Hampton
University, and he continues to live by
the REAL HU’s motto “Standard of
Excellence, An Education for Life.”
Devin is currently working in the front
office with the Sacramento Kings also the
founder and creator of H3 Collection, a
fashion brand designed to show the
significance HBCU’s have to the cities and
states in America.
