NCAA Tournament Expansion Approved
The NCAA Tournament is officially expanding from 68 to 76 teams for the upcoming season. This change adds eight more at-large bids, resulting in 52 teams in the traditional 64-team bracket and 24 teams competing in play-in games. Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo commented on the expansion, stating that while he would prefer the tournament stay the same, he understands the arguments for expansion given the recent conference realignments, such as the Big Ten growing to 18 teams.
Virginia Lands 2026 Four-Star Center Favour Ibe
The Virginia Cavaliers have secured a commitment from 2026 four-star center Favour Ibe. The 7-foot-1, 235-pound big man from Mt. Zion Prep in Maryland is the first member of head coach Ryan Odom's 2026 freshman class. Ibe is expected to fill the backup center role, providing elite rim protection similar to what Ugo Onyenso brought to the team last season.
Kansas Adds Prep Wing Atticus Richmond
The Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team has added another piece to its 2026 - 27 roster by signing prep wing Atticus Richmond. This addition continues to build on Kansas's strong recruiting class for the upcoming season.
FIU Signs Four-Star Guard Trey Beamer
Florida International University (FIU) men's basketball landed a significant recruit by signing four-star guard Trey Beamer from IMG Academy. Ranked as the No. 85 freshman in the 2026 class by ESPN, Beamer is the highest-ranked guard and second-highest freshman recruit in FIU history.

Washington Wizards Win 2026 Draft Lottery
The Washington Wizards won the 2026 NBA Draft Lottery and will have the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft. This marks the first time the Wizards will pick first overall since selecting John Wall in 2010. The Utah Jazz will pick second, followed by the Memphis Grizzlies at third, and the Chicago Bulls at fourth.
Draft Projections for Top Prospects
Following the NBA Draft Lottery, new mock drafts have been released projecting the landing spots for top prospects. Kansas freshman Darryn Peterson, who was highly ranked coming out of high school, is widely projected to be selected second overall by the Utah Jazz. Other notable prospects include AJ Dybantsa, who has been a top high school prospect and is eagerly awaiting his draft fate.
