Purdue Expected to Regain No. 1 Ranking
Purdue University is projected to return to the top of the AP college basketball rankings, displacing the University of Houston. The Boilermakers' anticipated rise is attributed to a significant road victory against a top 10 ranked University of Alabama team, while Houston had a much closer win against a ranked opponent. This would be the third change at the No. 1 spot in the ranking this season.
UConn Defeats BYU in a Close Matchup
In a highly anticipated game, the University of Connecticut defeated Brigham Young University with a final score of 86 - 84. The win has boosted UConn to the No. 3 spot in the CBS Sports Top 25 And 1 daily rankings, with BYU falling to No. 4. Sentencing in Minnesota High School Basketball Game Assault
A 20-year-old man has been sentenced to three years of probation for his involvement in an assault on a high school basketball player during a game in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. The man was one of five individuals who attacked the player on the team's bench, using weapons in the assault. Two other suspects have also been convicted in connection with the incident.
