NCAA Final Four Collision Course

The 2026 NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four is set to feature four powerhouse programs: Arizona, Illinois, Michigan, and UConn.  The teams combined for 132 wins heading into the Final Four, making it one of the most successful groups in tournament history.  UConn enters the Final Four riding an impressive 18-game winning steak in games played in the Sweet 16 or later, a streak that dates back to 2009.  The Huskies secured their spot with a thrilling 73 - 72 comeback victory over Duke, highlighted by a last-second 3-pointer from freshman Braylon Mullins.  The Final Four matchups will see Illinois taking on UConn, while Michigan faces Arizona.  The games will be broadcast on TBS, TNT, and truTV, with the National Semifinals on Saturday, April 4, and the National Championship on Monday, April 6.

NCAA Proposes Changes to Pre-Enrollment Eligibility Rules

The NCAA Division I Cabinet is considering a package of proposed changes to pre-college enrollment athletics eligibility rules.  One of the key proposals would require prospective student-athletes to withdraw from opt-in professional league drafts, such as the NBA draft, to maintain their college eligibility.  This change aims to align pre-college enrollment draft rules with post-college enrollment draft rules.  Additionally, the proposals would allow prospects to sign with agents prior to enrolling in college and accept prize money in their respective sports without impacting their eligibility.  If adopted, these changes would take effect for prospects entering college during the 2026-27 academic year.
