The Final Four is Set
The 2026 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament has delivered spectacular moments, culminating in a powerhouse Final Four lineup: UConn, Illinois, Arizona, and Michigan.
UConn's Historic Comeback Against Duke
In what is already being called an instant classic, the UConn Huskies stunned the No. 11 overall seed Duke Blue Devils in the Elite Eight. Trailing by as many as 19 points, UConn mounted a ferocious comeback that ended with freshman Braylon Mullins hitting a miraculous 35-foot buzzer-beater to secure a 73 - 72 victory. The Huskies will advance to face Illinois, a team that has dominated its tournament opponents by double digits.
Michigan Dominates Tennessee
On the other side of the bracket, the Michigan Wolverines punched their ticket to the Final Four with a resounding 95 - 62 victory over Tennessee. Yaxel Lendeborg led the charge with 27 points, becoming the first Michigan player since Juwan Howard in 1994 to score at least 23 points in 3 consecutive NCAA Tournament games. Michigan's commanding performance sets up a highly anticipated national semifinal clash against the Arizona Wildcats.
High School Basketball
Minnesota State Championships Conclude
The Minnesota high school boys' basketball state tournament wrapped up at Williams Arena with four teams claiming state titles. Hills-Beaver Creek secured its first-ever Class 1A championship with a dominant defensive performance against Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton. In Class 2A, Minnehaha Academy captured its sixth state title, led by Kellen Troup and Ayden Green. Totino-Grace took home the Class 3A crown, while Chaska emerged victorious in the Class 4A championship.
