College Basketball News

A series of major upsets and significant victories have reshaped the college basketball landscape.  In a stunning result, the No. 2 ranked Michigan Wolverines suffered their first loss of the season, falling to the Wisconsin Badgers in a close 91 - 88 game.  The Badgers, who were significant underdogs, secured the win with an impressive performance that included 15 three-pointers.  This was Wisconsin's first victory over a top-two ranked team since 2019.

Meanwhile, the Nebraska Cornhuskers continued their historic season, improving to a perfect 16 - 0 record.  They mounted a remarkable 16-point second-half comeback to defeat the Indiana Hoosiers 83 - 77 on the road.  This victory marks the best start in the program's history.  Jamarques Lawrence was instrumental in the win, scoring a career-high 27 points.

In other notable results, the No. 7 Houston Cougars demonstrated their defensive strength in a dominant 77 - 55 victory over Baylor, despite struggling with their shooting.  The list of undefeated teams in Division I has now been narrowed to five: Arizona, Iowa State, Vanderbilt, Nebraska, and Miami (Ohio).  On the other hand, the struggles for the Kansas Jayhawks continued as they fell to West Virginia 86 - 75, marking their second-worst start to a season under coach Bill Self.
