Lawrence Moten Passes Away at 53
The basketball community is mourning the loss of Syracuse legend Lawrence Moten, who died on September 30th at his home in Washington, D.C. Moten remains Syracuse's all-time leading scorer with 2,334 career points and averaged 19.3 points per game during his four years (1991 - 1995). Known as "Poetry in Moten," he earned second-team All-America honors and had his No. 21 jersey retired in 2018. Former coach Jim Boeheim called him one of the most underrated college basketball players of all time.

McKenna Woliczko Commits to Iowa
In the biggest high school basketball recruiting news, McKenna Woliczko, the nation's No. 6 girls' basketball recruit from the Class of 2026, announced her commitment to the University of Iowa on October 1st. the 6-foot-2 senior from Archbishop Mitty High School (San Jose) chose Iowa over USC, South Carolina, and Ohio State. Woliczko is a two-time High School SI Player of the Year and is currently recovering from a torn ACL and meniscus injury sustained in January. Before her injury, she was averaging 22.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.
Bo Ogden Commits to Texas
Four-star shooting guard Bo Ogden, ranked No. 34 nationally in the Class of 2026, committed to Texas on September 30th. The 6-foot-5 Austin Westlake High School senior chose the Longhorns over Tennessee and Purdue. Ogden, who led the entire Adidas 3SSB Circuit in scoring with 22.0 points per game, is the son of Texas men's basketball General Manager Chris Ogden and will be staying home to play for the Longhorns.

Michigan Transfer Sets Sights on the Final Four
Michigan transfer forward Yaxel Lendeborg has one of the most remarkable stories in college basketball. The player who only started playing basketball seven years ago has already made NCAA history. Last season at UAB, he became just the second player ever to record 600 point, 400 rebounds, and 150 assists in a single season-joining Larry Bird in that exclusive club. After leading UAB to an AAC Tournament title and earning MVP honors, he transferred to Michigan for his final season.
