Key SEC Transfer Portal Additions
The Southeastern Conference (SEC) continues to attract top talent through the transfer portal. Notable additions include P.J. Haggarty transferring from Kansas State to Texas A&M, bringing his elite scoring ability (21.0 points per game) to the Aggies' fast-paced offense. Texas has bolstered its frontcourt by adding physical forward David Punch from TCU and dynamic guard Isaiah Johnson from Colorado. Tennessee added offensive firepower with VCU transfer Terrence Hill Jr. and sharpshooter Tyler Lundblade from Belmont. Alabama also made significant moves, adding 6'11" center Drew Fielder from Boise State and 6'7" wing Cole Cloer from N.C. State. In a controversial move, freshman forward Bryson Tiller transferred from Kansas to Missouri, adding size and playmaking to the Tigers'. These moves highlight roster based eligibility limits and the ongoing challenges of managing rosters in the era of the transfer portal and NIL.

No. 1 Recruit Tyran Stokes Commits to Kansas
Tyran Stokes, the consensus No. 1 men's basketball recruit for the class of 2026, has committed to the Kansas Jayhawks, choosing them over Kentucky and Oregon. The 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward from Rainier Beach High School in Seattle is considered the most talented prospect in his class, known for his power, length, and explosive athleticism. This marks the second consecutive year that Kansas head coach Bill Self has landed the nation's top high school prospect, following Darryn Peterson's commitment last year. Stokes' commitment boosts the Jayhawks' 2026 recruiting class to No. 2 in the national rankings.
Five-Star Recruit Trinity Jones Commits to Maryland
In women's college basketball recruiting, five-star wing Trinity Jones has committed to the Maryland Terrapins. Jones, a 6-foot-1 standout from Naperville Central High School in Illinois, is ranked as the No. 11 prospect in the 2026 class. She recently reopened her recruitment after previously committing to Clemson. Jones had a spectacular senior season, averaging 28.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, and was named The News-Gazette's All-State Player of the Year. Her commitment is a major recruiting win for Maryland head coach Brenda Frese, who first offered Jones a scholarship when she was in seventh grade.
